“Wonderful weekend stay”Reviewed 15 May 2013
This was a great little hotel. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the room spacious, clean and comfortable- everything in working order. The breakfast was great, with a wide selection and good service. It’s also a very convenient location, 15 mins walk into central city, right near parks and good transport links to the airport via bus.

We stayed in room 102 which is a double room on the ground floor. On arrival we were greeted by the very friendly receptionist who told us how to find the room and told us about the breakfast option. The room was very clean and in good decorative order and was a fair size. Being at the back of the building it was very quiet as its away from the main road. The bathroom was excellent and was one of the best i’ve experienced in a hotel of this type. There was the usual tea/coffee making facilities as well as a flat screen tv with freeview channels. As I said before the room was incredibly quiet which meant we had no problem sleeping in the very comfortable bed. We had the breakfast which was an all you can eat buffet style with all types from a fry up to cereal and toast with tea, coffee and fruit juices on tap. The food was very good and the staff were constantly keeping you topped up with tea and coffee and cleaning away used plates and cutlery. The location is perfect for anyone visiting the SSE Hydro arena being a 15 minute walk from the venue. I have to say £75 for a double room this close to the wonderful city centre on a Saturday represents excellent value for money and would recommend this hotel to anyone. My one and only very small observation is the size of the bath towels which barely wrap round you but this in no way detracts from this excellent hotel.
Beautiful, large rooms. Very nicely decorated. Very clean. Close to the “on and off” tour bus stops. Very nice and helpful front desk staff. Getting parking in the small parking lot is a huge advantage if you can get it. A very nice breakfast. Many, many restaurants in close walking distance.
The whole team is wonderful. Argyll is definetely the best place to stay in Glasgow!
Hi Patricia and Kristy,We would like to thank you for this amazing stay and the pretty days in Glasgow. Our hearts will cry for having to leave this fantastic land called Scotland. We enjoyed our stay in your hotel and we hope to return as soon as possible. We also want to thank the breakfast staff and the young boy (Marcin) that helped us print the boarding passes for our return to Rome.I’m hopeful to live and look back on other days in Scotland.Kisses and huggies,Mattia and Gabriella
I’ve stayed before and will return.
Very happy with the hotel. Excellent value, friendly staff, a clean and very comfortable room, nice and warm, considering the weather outside. All staff friendly and caring. Waitress at breakfast very considerate and attentive.
Room was lovely, quite large, and very clean. Staff was polite and helpful. It’s a bit ontheoutskirts of the city center, but well worth it. Buses and taxis go by frequently, so getting there isn’t an issue. Well worth it, actually, as is is far quieter by the Argyll.
The Argyll hotel was lovely, the breakfast was everything you could wish for and the staff were all very friendly and helpful, I would definitely recommend this to other travellers.
