Glasgow Harbour is the urban regeneration scheme taking place around the old docks, and sites of old granaries, wharves and shipyards in Glasgow and Glasgow Harbour sits by the banks of the River Clyde near Partick.

Glasgow Harbour is to include up-market residential apartments, office complexes and leisure facilities. The earliest developments were the SECC in 1985 on the former Queen’s dock. Throughout the 1990’s luxury riverside apartments began to appear as well as the Clyde Auditorium which opened in 1997 at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre.

On the former Prince’s dock across the water (formal site of the Glasgow Garden Festival 1988) you will now find the new headquarters of the of BBC. In this area you will also find the Glasgow Science Centre and the Glasgow Tower.

In September 2006, the Clyde Arc road bridge opened to traffic, enhancing access to the South Bank at the SECC.

Glasgow Harbour will enjoy much improved transport links with a pre-light rail metro system planned, to be called Clyde Fastlink, which will link the area to the city centre areas, with possible interchanges to the Subway.

Further developments for the Glasgow Harbour project includes a new Museum of Transport and Scottish National Arena.
