The staff was really nice and helpful.
To describe my overall impressions in a couple of words – smiley faces. Excellent housekeeping – nice people to speak to, excellent breakfast staff and willing to help.
This was our second visit and was even better than last time. I shared a huge triple-bedded, double-aspect room with my daughter that was lovely and clean. High ceilings, big windows and plenty of space made for a light and comfortable room. We paid slightly extra for breakfast and that was thoroughly worth it as it was genuinely the best I’ve had. Everything was laid out in the main hotel (there are rooms on both sides of Sauchiehall Street) with lots of choice. You help yourself but the meat and non-meat stuff is kept separate. I recommend ordering porridge (porridge, kippers and poached/boiled eggs are to order). Fried potato cakes instead of fried bread was delicious. We all enjoyed those! The breakfast staff were friendly and helpful, and really couldn’t do enough to help, without being at all invasive. Breakfast is served in the restaurant which is below ground but there is a lift. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable. Argyll Hotel is situated very close to the Kelvingrove Museum in the West End of Glasgow so has heaps to do close by. The site seeing bus stop is 100 yards away. There is some hotel parking but we parked on the wide road to the side of the hotel which cost £2 for the rest of the afternoon, and was then free after 6pm on the Friday for the rest of the weekend. Considering its on one of the main streets of the city, we didn’t feel we were in the city centre as Kelvingrove Park next door is beautiful with all the trees and open spaces. It was easy to get back on the motorway too. We’re already planning a trip back for next year. We had a brilliant time so thank you Argyll Hotel. Also, if you’d like an evening drink, pop on over to the Snaffle Bit across the road….
The help in the dining room during our breakfast was very good.
This is my second stay at the Argyll Hotel and I chose it because of its location near to the S.E.C.C. and the price. I could not fault the buffet breakfast and the friendly staff.
A warm, attractive place to stay. The breakfasts were fantastic. This was a very good place to stay to walk to many museums, into town and to shops and restaurants.
The reception was very good at showing me how to operate the TV. Everything went very well. I would recommend for friends to stay here.
Traveller rating:“Nice place” 17 Oct 2013 A TripAdvisor MemberI went there in October, I was there for one night, with my friends. We found a good hearty breakfast, comfortable beds, clean bathroom, we have activated the wifi network, before we left we were given the opportunity to leave your luggage in custody. The hotel is located next to Kelvingrove Park. The reception by the maximum willingness to provide information. This review is the subjective opinion of a TripAdvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC
Personnel très sympathique et accueillant…
A very lovely, spacious room with all the necessities. The room is warm. Can be a little noisy when the window is open, but otherwise very comfy. Any issues at check-in were resolved immediately.
