Dear members and staff of the Argyll Hotel, I am writing to thank you on behalf of all the P6 and P7 pupils from Paible and Lochmaddy School that stayed in the Argyll Hotel last week and to tell you how kind and helpful your staff were and how nice and clean your rooms were. We will always remember our trip to Glasgow and thank you for such a brilliant place to stay. Yours sincerely, Pupils from Paible and Lochmaddy School
Our waitress Mairi was most accomodating! She made our dining experience pleasurable by her knowledge of the menu and the ingredients. She went out of her way to adjust the salad change and desserts. Mairi was very friendly – a real asset to your dining establishment! We had such a lovely experience for our first meal in Glasgow thanks to Mairi’s wonderful service! She was patient with our special orders and kind with our extre requests. We will remember our dinner at Sutherlands very fondly. Thank you!
Great breakfast. Suited us for a family get-away and had everything we needed.
Great location, very friendly atmosphere and pleasing traditional Scottish décor. Delicious breakfast, especially the black pudding. The hotel is very well run – I think you have it just right. The breakfast staff were superb – anticipating needs for all customers.
The staff was very welcoming and extremely helpful and knowledgable. Their kindness was so appreciated. I had one of my favorite nights in Glasgow at the hotel bar, whose bartender was so kind and charming, recommending local scotch whiskeys. There were also Glasgow locals at the bar, playing live music, and we had a great time singing along.
A quiet friendly hotel on the doorstep of Glasgow city centre. The Argyll really is a home away from home, perfectly suited to tourists and business users alike. The rates are very competitive. The restaurant punches well beyond its weight with regards to the quality and flavour of the food it offers. Overall, a gem of a hotel and highly recommended. This hotel located in Sauchiehall street is a 5 minute walk to Yorkhill hospital or a £4 taxi to City Centre. SECC and Kelvingrove all within easy walking distance.
On our arrival the member of staff behind the counter was excellent. He made us feel welcome and took the time to ask what we would be doing during our stay. He gave us a map and pointed out areas of interest. Once we had reached our room, we were suprised. It was excellennt, the bed was great and the room was clean. When I needed an iron and board, it was up brought up to the room within minutes. The following morning, the breakfast was good, with a good choice of food and check out was seamless. If I visit Glasgow again, I will definitely try to get a room at the Argyll.
Outstanding, friendly staff… made us feel extra welcome.
Room was clean and well maintained. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Your reception bods were super and the lady who looked after us at breakfast was lovely. Nothing to complain about! Very convenient for the Kelvingrove Art Gallery where I’ve been a few times (it was a lovely sunny day for a walk in Kelvingrove Park).
