“Amazing Staff, brilliant breakfast, comfortable room”Reviewed 25 September 2013
This little hotel is great and the staff make it so… my room was on the dreaded 4th floor but it was very pleasent bed was comfortable and my partner and I had everything we needed in the room we paid £50 for the night including breakfast so I feel we got a lot more for our money, yes the room was abit dated but if you want a tartan room or mordern bathroom then I guess you need to pay for it… breaking news everyone i hear the hotel is renovating rooms! Maybe the budget rooms will be next. Over all great night stay would defiantly stay here again.
“Short and sweet”Reviewed 27 September 2013
Can only review on what we saw as it was a whistle stop stay, Went to reception after being quoted some obscene prices from hotels elsewhere and were offered B&B double room ensuite at a very reasonable price and took it, Lovely receptionist, got checked in very quick and headed over the road to the guest house, room 1. Room was adequate, very clean and tidy and well kept. Nice to see, Missed breakfast as we slept in……… All in all a good stay and will be back.

Excellent hotel to stay.Rooms big and very comfortable.Bath robes plenty towels, shampoo conditioner hairdryer etc. When windows closed traffic noise not a problem. Amazing facilities good value for money. Free WiFi! A La Carte menu in evening and buffet breakfast in morning . Good selection/variety. Friendly helpful staff. I will be returning. Thank you. This hotel is ideal for any event in SECC only 10mins walking or for shopping. Fantastic Indian restuarants almost accross from the hotel. Mother india, Lorne and many high class restuarants.
Location was good to see both the city center and the museums, many shops and restaurants near by. Included breakfast was really good. We got upgraded to a 4 bed family room (there was only 2 of us) so the room was very spacious and comfortable.great value for the money. Would highly recommend this place.
Room was lovely, quite large, and very clean. Staff was polite and helpful. It’s a bit ontheoutskirts of the city center, but well worth it. Buses and taxis go by frequently, so getting there isn’t an issue. Well worth it, actually, as is is far quieter by the Argyll.
All staff, particularly at breakfast, were great, very obliging and helpful.
On our arrival the member of staff behind the counter was excellent. He made us feel welcome and took the time to ask what we would be doing during our stay. He gave us a map and pointed out areas of interest. Once we had reached our room, we were surprised. It was excellent, the bed was great and the room was clean. When I needed an iron and board, it was up brought up to the room within minutes. The following morning, the breakfast was good, with a good choice of food and check out was seamless. If I visit Glasgow again, I will definitely try to get a room at the Argyll.

“Great location, Delicious full vegan breakfast”Reviewed 14 January 2013
We picked this hotel originally because they offer a full vegan scottish breakfast, and ended up liking everything about the hotel! When you book your room, there is a place to request the vegan breakfast–it comes with everything including porridge with soya milk, potato scones, tomatoes, mushrooms, vegan sausages, toast, etc. The room was really cozy, with tea and biscuits refilled every day. The West End location is terrific, practically across the street from the Kelvingrove. It is on the main road but is not loud or noisy and it’s a relatively quick, easy walk right downtown. There is also a lot to do right nearby–their bar at the hotel is lovely and the Snaffle Bit is a pub next door that was really nice and friendly and if you enjoy vegan food, The 78 is basically around the corner. Everyone on staff is super friendly and helpful. There is also a bus stop right out front if you prefer to take transportation instead of walking. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely room, (apparently recently renovated). The bathroom was roomy and modern and our bed was very comfortable. Staff were all warm, friendly and very knowledgeable. Perfect location, especially if you need to be close to University of Glasgow campus. We enjoyed dinners at the Firebird restaurant and The Butchershop restaurant, both of which within walking distance of hotel.
