The Clyde Arc

June 11, 2011

The Clyde Arc is a road bridge spanning the River Clyde in Glasgow and its innovative curved design gives a modern look to the waterfront.

The bridge was named the “Clyde Arc” upon its official opening on 18 September 2006. It has been previously known as the “Finnieston Bridge” or the “Squinty Bridge

The Clyde Arc provides a new, striking and highly visible landmark addition to the River Clyde in central Glasgow.  By night, coloured architectural lighting is directed upwards to reflect from the downward facing diamond sections which increases the arch’s dramatic effect.

Book you room now at Argyll Hotel and enjoy the waterfront which is within walking distance.

What our guests say

“Compelled to give the staff a good shout at The Argyll. Without a doubt for the price and location of the Hotel this is one of the best budget hotels I have come across in the UK. 15 Minute walk from Town centre, The setting while basic are of a very good standard for the tariff, clean and a good shower / hot water supply alongside a comfy bed to rest up. Very good staff and an exceptional buffet breakfast that was well above expectation. For a budget hotel I would happily recommend the Argyll and will stay here again!”
