Argyll Hotel in Glasgow
– Testimonials –
Had an excellent stay – would happily return/recommend. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room spotless. No complaints! Kristy at reception went the extra mile to make our stay memorable.
Came to Glasgow to watch “The Killers” at Bellahouston park . Three ladies staying for two nights . We didn’t want right in the city centre and this hotel ( a shyer taxi ride away ) suited our needs . On arrival check in was fine , no car park space , parked just round the corner and so not a problem . The hotel is next to a pub but it wasn’t noisy at all . Our room on the second floor was ENORMOUS !!!! Two single beds and a double …. Decor lovely traditional Scottish tartan ( royal Stewart with a wall plaque to explain ) . Bathroom new and modern . Only gripe about room was not enough coat hangers for three/ four people ( as the room is meant for ) . Breakfast was lovely , plenty of choice whether you wanted light continental style or full English ( yes still called that in Scotland) . Staff were pleasant and attentive . The carpets on the stairs were a bit worn and tired looking but everything else was fine . Lots of restaurants and bars on the streets behind the hotel . We ate at several and were not disappointed . Taxi to Bellahouston park ( which was about 20mins away ) was only £6 . We three thoroughly enjoyed our mini break and would stay here again .
The Argyll is not a fancy hotel, but it is very comfortable and clean and the price is quite reasonable. The staff were all friendly and helpful, were happy to give us directions and to store our bags for the day after we checked out. The location is absolutely perfect for spending the day in the beautiful Kelvingrove Park and the museums there and at Glasgow University.
I love the authenticity of your hotel. It gives travellers a special experience of Scotland.
Reception staff is fantastic. Excellent service by staff at breakfast. Always the same excellent service. Sensitive to individual dietary needs. Goes an extra mile to give the best.
Location was good to see both the city center and the museums, many shops and restaurants near by. Included breakfast was really good. We got upgraded to a 4 bed family room (there was only 2 of us) so the room was very spacious and comfortable.great value for the money. Would highly recommend this place.
A very enjoyable stay, very comfortable. Food delicious. Staff very friendly. Didn’t stay long enough!
…Accueil très sympathique dans un établissement qui a conservé son âme…
+++ very friendly staff at reception (a young man on 3rd August at 22.00 and a very friendly lady from Harris!!!) Also great service in your restaurant during breakfast. Thank you.
Great location close to the Kelvingrove Museum and Gallery, Glasgow University, Hunterian Museum, Mackintosh House, parks and restaurants. Very easy to get to the city centre, bus and train stations etc. by local bus.
