The staff was really nice and helpful.
Home from home. All staff are first class. Beds so comfortable. Stayed last year, very central location. This hotel doesn’t need anything else. Marisol at reception – a real gem.
A thoroughly enjoyable and comfortable stay Had booked to stay in Guest House but on arrival was upgraded to the Hotel. Reception staff very helpful and friendly. Hotel room (twin) was good size, very comfortable and clean. All facilities as advertised. Breakfast buffet was great and good choices -something available for everyone. We opted for cooked breakfast – piping hot and very, very tasty. Waiting staff couldn’t have been nicer! Great location for those who don’t mind a short walk to SECC or attending concert etc. I have no hesitation in recommending staying at the Argyll – we will certainly be back.
Great value, a very friendly hotel.
Rated: Excellent Have been several times over the last 20 years.
We found the room was good value for money and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful Lewis Wright Chester
A quiet friendly hotel on the doorstep of Glasgow city centre. The Argyll really is a home away from home, perfectly suited to tourists and business users alike. The rates are very competitive. The restaurant punches well beyond its weight with regards to the quality and flavour of the food it offers. Overall, a gem of a hotel and highly recommended. This hotel located in Sauchiehall street is a 5 minute walk to Yorkhill hospital or a £4 taxi to City Centre. SECC and Kelvingrove all within easy walking distance.
This was our second visit and was even better than last time. I shared a huge triple-bedded, double-aspect room with my daughter that was lovely and clean. High ceilings, big windows and plenty of space made for a light and comfortable room. We paid slightly extra for breakfast and that was thoroughly worth it as it was genuinely the best I’ve had. Everything was laid out in the main hotel (there are rooms on both sides of Sauchiehall Street) with lots of choice. You help yourself but the meat and non-meat stuff is kept separate. I recommend ordering porridge (porridge, kippers and poached/boiled eggs are to order). Fried potato cakes instead of fried bread was delicious. We all enjoyed those! The breakfast staff were friendly and helpful, and really couldn’t do enough to help, without being at all invasive. Breakfast is served in the restaurant which is below ground but there is a lift. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable. Argyll Hotel is situated very close to the Kelvingrove Museum in the West End of Glasgow so has heaps to do close by. The site seeing bus stop is 100 yards away. There is some hotel parking but we parked on the wide road to the side of the hotel which cost £2 for the rest of the afternoon, and was then free after 6pm on the Friday for the rest of the weekend. Considering its on one of the main streets of the city, we didn’t feel we were in the city centre as Kelvingrove Park next door is beautiful with all the trees and open spaces. It was easy to get back on the motorway too. We’re already planning a trip back for next year. We had a brilliant time so thank you Argyll Hotel. Also, if you’d like an evening drink, pop on over to the Snaffle Bit across the road….
Nice, cosy room for a single person and a one night stay. Hotel is in an excellent location. Enjoyed my stay and above all slept well. Patricia on reception was very helpful.
All staff encountered were polite and friendly. Good location.
