Excellent! Delighted with room, price, excellent breakfast, and very friendly/helpful staff. My kind of hotel (although putting a Macdonald in the Campbell room beside a picture of the Glencoe massacre did raise a smile!). Would definitely recommend.
Very pleasant stay – would recommend to friends staying overnight in Glasgow.
“great overnight stay”Reviewed 27 August 2013
My husband & I stayed overnight here as we were going to see The Who in the SECC for our wedding anniversary, when we arrived at hotel, we were given a warm welcome and given a room with a four poster bed,the room was extremely clean and comfortable. Breakfast was buffet style, everything you could want from a good auld Scottish breakfast. We could not fault this hotel or staff in any way, and we will definately stay here again
A warm and friendly welcome, a spotlessly clean room, great food, excellent!
All the Staff were lovely , the room was immaculate , and food was brilliant , we liked everything about this Hotel and will definately be back
Excellent food and staff.
On our arrival the member of staff behind the counter was excellent. He made us feel welcome and took the time to ask what we would be doing during our stay. He gave us a map and pointed out areas of interest. Once we had reached our room, we were surprised. It was excellent, the bed was great and the room was clean. When I needed an iron and board, it was up brought up to the room within minutes. The following morning, the breakfast was good, with a good choice of food and check out was seamless. If I visit Glasgow again, I will definitely try to get a room at the Argyll.
“Always a pleasure!”Reviewed 24 February 2013
Stayed 5 nights again and cant fault the Argyll Hotel. Staff at the front desk and in the restaurant all excellent-cheery and will go out of there way to help. The location is fantastic to all of the University/Bryers Rd/West End attractions, the city centre and the SECC. Plenty of pubs, restaurants around, beautiful Kelvin Grove Park and art gallery over the road. The direct airport bus outside cant be beat. Friendly service at reasonable prices and well situarted -well done Argyll Hotel!

All staff very helpful. Had a great stay, will recommend to my friends. Blond lady (Linda) in breakfast room very friendly and helpful at all times.
This was our second visit and was even better than last time. I shared a huge triple-bedded, double-aspect room with my daughter that was lovely and clean. High ceilings, big windows and plenty of space made for a light and comfortable room. We paid slightly extra for breakfast and that was thoroughly worth it as it was genuinely the best I’ve had. Everything was laid out in the main hotel (there are rooms on both sides of Sauchiehall Street) with lots of choice. You help yourself but the meat and non-meat stuff is kept separate. I recommend ordering porridge (porridge, kippers and poached/boiled eggs are to order). Fried potato cakes instead of fried bread was delicious. We all enjoyed those! The breakfast staff were friendly and helpful, and really couldn’t do enough to help, without being at all invasive. Breakfast is served in the restaurant which is below ground but there is a lift. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable. Argyll Hotel is situated very close to the Kelvingrove Museum in the West End of Glasgow so has heaps to do close by. The site seeing bus stop is 100 yards away. There is some hotel parking but we parked on the wide road to the side of the hotel which cost £2 for the rest of the afternoon, and was then free after 6pm on the Friday for the rest of the weekend. Considering its on one of the main streets of the city, we didn’t feel we were in the city centre as Kelvingrove Park next door is beautiful with all the trees and open spaces. It was easy to get back on the motorway too. We’re already planning a trip back for next year. We had a brilliant time so thank you Argyll Hotel. Also, if you’d like an evening drink, pop on over to the Snaffle Bit across the road….
