Our waitress Mairi was most accomodating! She made our dining experience pleasurable by her knowledge of the menu and the ingredients. She went out of her way to adjust the salad change and desserts. Mairi was very friendly – a real asset to your dining establishment! We had such a lovely experience for our first meal in Glasgow thanks to Mairi’s wonderful service! She was patient with our special orders and kind with our extre requests. We will remember our dinner at Sutherlands very fondly. Thank you!
We stayed in room 102 which is a double room on the ground floor. On arrival we were greeted by the very friendly receptionist who told us how to find the room and told us about the breakfast option. The room was very clean and in good decorative order and was a fair size. Being at the back of the building it was very quiet as its away from the main road. The bathroom was excellent and was one of the best i’ve experienced in a hotel of this type. There was the usual tea/coffee making facilities as well as a flat screen tv with freeview channels. As I said before the room was incredibly quiet which meant we had no problem sleeping in the very comfortable bed. We had the breakfast which was an all you can eat buffet style with all types from a fry up to cereal and toast with tea, coffee and fruit juices on tap. The food was very good and the staff were constantly keeping you topped up with tea and coffee and cleaning away used plates and cutlery. The location is perfect for anyone visiting the SSE Hydro arena being a 15 minute walk from the venue. I have to say £75 for a double room this close to the wonderful city centre on a Saturday represents excellent value for money and would recommend this hotel to anyone. My one and only very small observation is the size of the bath towels which barely wrap round you but this in no way detracts from this excellent hotel.
The change of rooms to suit disability of my wife – much appreciated.
I rate the reception 10/10 and more. Lovely warm atmosphere, very professional, no problem was too difficult. The housekeeping was excellent as well. The breakfast – stunning. As a TV director I have filmed many cooking TV shows. Your breakfast and service was fabulous – Linda and the team were wonderful. I film all over the country and stay in different hotels every week. My seven days here have been a spectacular delight. What a lovely surprise to discover one of the best hotels I have ever been in. I will tell all my friends!
The staff at the Argyll is exceptionally friendly and helpful!
We would recommend the hotel, all staff on breakfasts and reception was amazing.
The staff was very welcoming and extremely helpful and knowledgable. Their kindness was so appreciated. I had one of my favorite nights in Glasgow at the hotel bar, whose bartender was so kind and charming, recommending local scotch whiskeys. There were also Glasgow locals at the bar, playing live music, and we had a great time singing along.
We love the Argyll Hotel, it feels like home away from home. This is our 4th visit, over many years when visiting Glasgow friends. Wifi in the hotel – excellent. Very nice stay.
Had an excellent stay – would happily return/recommend. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room spotless. No complaints! Kristy at reception went the extra mile to make our stay memorable.
An excellent little hotel, perfectly situated for us close to the university, and with easy access to the city centre. We didn’t use the restaurant, but the menu looked good, and the hotel staff were extremely helpful and courteous. We would certainly stay here again, and would recommend it.
