Great location close to the Kelvingrove Museum and Gallery, Glasgow University, Hunterian Museum, Mackintosh House, parks and restaurants. Very easy to get to the city centre, bus and train stations etc. by local bus.
When I arrived the woman at reception, I’m afraid I can’t recall her name, was very friendly with a nice smile to greet me. Exactly what you want when arriving at a hotel. I was also allowed to sleep in a different room one night due to noise above keeping me awake, which was a nice gesture.
The Argyll hotel was lovely, the breakfast was everything you could wish for and the staff were all very friendly and helpful, I would definitely recommend this to other travellers.
Beautiful, large rooms. Very nicely decorated. Very clean. Close to the “on and off” tour bus stops. Very nice and helpful front desk staff. Getting parking in the small parking lot is a huge advantage if you can get it. A very nice breakfast. Many, many restaurants in close walking distance.
Good that you had a car park. Staff very helpful. Enjoyed our breakfasts and dinner. Not too far to walk into the shopping area.Thought Glasgow was a friendly lace and enjoyed our short stay.
“Great budget hotel”Reviewed 21 May 2013
Stayed one night here and no complaints at all. Clean, friendly staff (especially at breakfast), good brekkie, great location. Park, art gallery, bus links, good restaurants (try Mother India for a top notch curry) and close to town. Bed comfy and a good nights sleep. Would definitely stay sgain.

Great hotel, friendly staff, reception – outstanding, helpful and had local knowledge.
Very friendly and helpful staff. We would happily stay at the Argyll again if visiting Glasgow in the future.
“Murder mystery dinner evening…….fabulous night!”Reviewed 6 March 2013
Booked a murder mystery dinner night for my husbands 30th and it was brilliant!wasnt really sure what to expect but the night was well organised, the food tasty and the staff very pleasant. The hotel is nice inside and for our size of party(20) the room was a perfect size. We would definitely go back again and would highly recommend it. It didn’t go on late maybe about half ten so you could go out after but we just stayed on for a few drinks. The price was £45 a head which was brilliant. They order the food in so its not restaurant freshness but it was still very nice and great sized portions. If in doubt try it out!!

“Budget Hotel Gold”Reviewed 14 May 2013
Compelled to give the staff a good shout at The Argyll. Without a doubt for the price and location of the Hotel this is one of the best budget hotels I have come across in the UK. 15 Minute walk from Town centre, The setting while basic are of a very good standard for the tariff, clean and a good shower / hot water supply alongside a comfy bed to rest up. Very good staff and an exceptional buffet breakfast that was well above expectation. For a budget hotel I would happily recommend the Argyll and will stay here again!
