Loch Lomond
Seaplanes
Seaplanes returned to the River Clyde after a gap of 60 years.
Loch Lomond Seaplanes operate a seaplane service from a new purpose-built
terminal at the Glasgow Science Centre on the River Clyde.
The Loch Lomond Seaplanes are within easy reach of the Argyll Hotel, Glasgow.
The Loch Lomond Seaplanes cut journey times dramatically: 12 minutes
to Loch Lomond, a further ten to Oban on the western seaboard.
Once in Oban, there’s time for a bite to eat and a spot of sightseeing
before the return journey
Taking a trip with Loch Lomond seaplanes makes a great addition to a visit
to Glasgow – see the coast and countryside by day and the city at
night. You might just want the experience of take-off and landing in a
seaplane.
The seaplane also has green credentials: causing zero pollution to water
and virtually no disturbance – it even has a small wake in comparison
to motor boats. The seaplane also flies at a maximum ceiling well below
the creation point of ‘con-trails’.
The Loch Lomond seaplane service operates from February to November, weather
permitting, with plans to fly to other Scottish destinations such as Mull
and Skye in the near future.
The Glasgow Science centre and Loch Lomond Seaplanes are within walking
distance of the Argyll Hotel. Ask at reception for further details.
