Bus Tours Glasgow
Mackintosh Experience Bus Tours from Sightseeing Glasgow operates as a
hop-on hop-off service between the 22nd May and 30th September 2009.
The Mackintosh bus tour explores the legacy of world-renowned artist,
designer and architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The vivid pink bus travels
between nine Mackintosh attractions and popular tourist spots.
Prepared by the Mackintosh Heritage Group, the Mackintosh audio bus tour
provides a new way to understand Mackintosh and his contemporaries in
the context of Glasgow’s cityscape and landmarks.
The tour will runs everyday between the 22nd May and 30th September. Monday
to Saturday, the bus will make five round trips starting at 9:45am in
George Square. On Sunday, the tour will complete four trips starting at
11:00am.

You can catch the bus at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum just

Tickets can be purchaed on the Bus
All tickets allow two consecutive days of travel.
Adult tickets cost £8, concession £5.
Children aged between five and fifteen cost £3, with a £1
discount for Glasgow Kids card holders and children under five go free
with a paying adult.
Family tickets for two adults and up to four children are available for
£20.

The bus tour is part of Mackintosh 100 a Homecoming Scotland campaign
celebrating the build up to the centenary of the Glasgow School of Art
in November.

Mackintosh 100 (January - November) 2009
Mackintosh 100 will focus on the centenary of Charles Rennie Mackintosh's
internationally acknowledged masterpiece The Mackintosh Building
at the Glasgow School of Art. which was completed in 1909. Throughout
the year there will be an ongoing programme of enhanced tours at The Art
School, branded centenary events including a special Homecoming Degree
Show, and a special exhibition celebrating life and art at GSA in 1909.
The centenary will be supported throughout the year by a range of events
at other Mackintosh venues in the city. The Argyll hotel is within easy
reach of the Glasgow School of Art, The Mackintosh Church and many other
Mackintosh places of interest.
