Scotstoun Stadium Glasgow
Scotstoun Stadium, Sports and Leisure Centre is located in Scotstoun district of Glasgow and within 15 minutes drive of the Argyll Hotel.
During 2009 Scotstoun Stadium goes through a £17.6m redevelopment and is expected to be completed by the autumn.
Scotstoun stadium will boast new grandstands, indoor athletics training facilities and a new fitness suite, while the existing 400m track will be renovated and the café, foyer and reception areas extended.
In 2010 it is proposed that Scotstoun Stadium will become the training ground of the Glasgow Warriors rugby team, Glasgow’s only professional rugby team. The Glasgow Warriors will have access to a grass training pitch, a 3G all-weather training pitch, a strength and conditioning suite, a 100m indoor running track, a physiotherapy suite, changing rooms, a player lounge and a meeting/video analysis room.
The Glasgow Warriors will however continue to play their home matches at Firhill.
Scotstoun Stadium and Sports Centre was originally Scotstoun Showground. Land in Scotstoun was developed by the Glasgow Agricultural Society as a venue for agricultural shows, but by 1907 it was also being used as a venue for sporting events and by 1915 the running track had been laid out with a grandstand. In 1993 a programme of development began to transform the facilities into a specialist sports training and competition venue. The new Scotstoun Leisure Complex contains Scotland’s first indoor tennis centre, all-weather athletics and field event facilities and a rugby centre of excellence as well as community leisure facilities.

For the masters of the small ball on the squash court or the table tennis table, Scotstoun Stadium and Sports Centre will be the focus of the action. The Scotstoun Sports Centre is already well known for its athletics and rugby and the facilities are being upgraded to meet the requirements of international squash. The centre will also be used for training purposes for track and field athletes.
