Here are a number of reviews from various websites and comments that have been left in our Guestbook in reception here at the Argyll Hotel.

Perfect location for our needs, stayed 3 nights. On street parking could be a hassle as you have to pay 8:00-6:00 Monday to Friday but we were there over the weekend. Room was very small but had everything we needed and was very comfortable and quiet. Great bed, lots of big fluffy pillows. Internet was free and worked fine once they reset the router. Bathroom was new, stand up shower, sink and toilet and lots of places to store your personal items.

Check in was pleasant and efficient. Room and en suite clean, tidy and furnished with the basics. Soft furnishings and bedding clean and attractive. Comfortable bed. Tea and coffee making facilities. Housekeeping staff excellent. Thank you.

The hotel provided me with the prefect base for my time in Glasgow. It had far more and better facilities that I would expect at the price. It was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful. Service could not be faulted. Room amenities were fine and its location, with easy access to town, was good. The restaurant does not open midweek but there are lots of good places to eat very close-by. Overall I would rate my stay as excellent.

We stayed here for 1 night as we had tickets to a concert at the SSE Hydro Arena. It was about 15 minutes walk away, and about 25 minutes walk into town (although taxis were cheap and efficient – it costs around a fiver to get to Glasgow Central train station) Check-in was efficient and friendly. We had a ground floor room at the back of the hotel which was very quiet as it was away from the main road. It was spotlessly clean and very nicely decorated. The bathroom was very modern, again very clean and the shower was wonderful. The bed was very comfortable. We paid £8.50 each for the buffet breakfast, and it was good value in my opinion. There was plenty of cereals, yoghurt, fruit juice, toast and jam, and the usual fry up items such as sausages, bacon, mushrooms, scrambled eggs, potato scones, beans, tomatoes, and black pudding. It was all replenished frequently and there was table service for tea & coffee. The restaurant staff were friendly and attentive. We were very impressed with the hotel and the staff, and would not hesitate to stay here again next time we visit this wonderful city.

We stayed in room 102 which is a double room on the ground floor. On arrival we were greeted by the very friendly receptionist who told us how to find the room and told us about the breakfast option. The room was very clean and in good decorative order and was a fair size. Being at the back of the building it was very quiet as its away from the main road. The bathroom was excellent and was one of the best i’ve experienced in a hotel of this type. There was the usual tea/coffee making facilities as well as a flat screen tv with freeview channels. As I said before the room was incredibly quiet which meant we had no problem sleeping in the very comfortable bed. We had the breakfast which was an all you can eat buffet style with all types from a fry up to cereal and toast with tea, coffee and fruit juices on tap. The food was very good and the staff were constantly keeping you topped up with tea and coffee and cleaning away used plates and cutlery. The location is perfect for anyone visiting the SSE Hydro arena being a 15 minute walk from the venue. I have to say £75 for a double room this close to the wonderful city centre on a Saturday represents excellent value for money and would recommend this hotel to anyone. My one and only very small observation is the size of the bath towels which barely wrap round you but this in no way detracts from this excellent hotel.

I recently stayed here for with a few friends for a girls weekend away. we arrived at the hotel too early to check in but the receptionists were more than happy to store our luggage away for us which was great. The hotel is quite far from the city centre but only took us about 15 mins on foot. Taxis are very reasonable though if needed. The room for four of us was spacious and very clean. Our room faced the street so there was some noise but nothing that kept us awake. The breakfast in the morning was good and filled us up for a second day of shopping!

A thoroughly enjoyable and comfortable stay
Had booked to stay in Guest House but on arrival was upgraded to the Hotel. Reception staff very helpful and friendly. Hotel room (twin) was good size, very comfortable and clean. All facilities as advertised. Breakfast buffet was great and good choices -something available for everyone. We opted for cooked breakfast – piping hot and very, very tasty. Waiting staff couldn’t have been nicer! Great location for those who don’t mind a short walk to SECC or attending concert etc. I have no hesitation in recommending staying at the Argyll – we will certainly be back.

Hi Patricia and Kristy,

We would like to thank you for this amazing stay and the pretty days in Glasgow.

Our hearts will cry for having to leave this fantastic land called Scotland.

We enjoyed our stay in your hotel and we hope to return as soon as possible.

We also want to thank the breakfast staff and the young boy (Marcin) that helped us print the boarding passes for our return to Rome.

I’m hopeful to live and look back on other days in Scotland.

Kisses and huggies,

Mattia and Gabriella

Very polite and attentive staff. Receptionist on the 24/01 (Patricia) was great – gave us bus details to get into town – very cheerful and friendly.
