World Pipe Band Championships Glasgow : Saturday 15th August 2009.

The World Pipe Band Championships have been associated with Glasgow since 1948 and are a celebration of the very best of Scottish music, culture and dance.

The Piping Live festival week will climax at the World Pipe Band Championships on Saturday 15th August at Glasgow Green, the city’s oldest park space. The event will see more than 8,000 pipers and drummers from across the globe competing for the coveted title of World Champions 2009.

Following the day’s intense competition and the crowning of the new world champions the party atmosphere will continue at the After Worlds Shindig – in honour of all of the competing bands.
