The Arches is a bar, arts venue, theatre, live music venue and nightclub in Glasgow, Scotland, which first opened in 1991. It is a not-for-profit organization. It is situated in the City Centre under Glasgow Central Station  and the West Coast Main Line in the brick arches of the Viaduct that leads into the station, with entrances on Midland Street and since 2001 underneath Hielanman’s Umbrella on Argyle Street. The venue has 65,000 square feet (6,000 m2) of floor space which is spread over two floors and seven arches
Situated below seven Victorian brick arches supporting entral Station, hosting a vast range of cultural events including theatre, clubs, live music, corporate events. The cavernous spaces, some still derilict, have a rich history in their walls.

We have just returned from a 3 night 4 day break at the Argyll.We can not praise this hotel enough. On entering we were greeted by very friendly reception staff. Our room a double was very clean and tidy. The breakfast was wonderful and a member of staff Linda couldn’t do enough.We could order the eggs we wanted and nothing was to much trouble.We would definitely recommend this hotel.
