The 2009 Great Scottish Runis supported by Lloyds TSB and Bank of Scotland and it features Half-marathon and 10k distances plus Junior 3k and 1.5k road races. This annual Glasgow running event – The Great Scottish Run, or Glasgow Half Marathon, is the largest mass participation event in Scotland. In 2008 19,000 runners took to the streets of Glasgow to run just over 13 miles.
The race takes runners past some of the city’s most famous attractions. Starting from George Square in the centre of town, the race leads to Glasgow Green, taking in the Kingston Bridge over the River Clyde, through Pollok Park and many other Glasgow landmarks.
