Join us for Skyride Glasgow and get on your bike ! Skyride will see Glasgow full of cyclists this summer when the city roads will be opened up giving you the chance to cycle in a traffic free environment and all completely free of charge !.
Glaswegians and fellow Scots alike being asked to grab their bikes and join Sky, British Cycling and Glasgow City Council for their chance to enjoy the traffic free 6.8KM route of Glasgow city centre.
Highlights of the route include:
Riverside scenery, as you ride along the re-vamped River Clyde
The amazing architecture of the iconic Armadillo
Family photo opportunities at Nelson’s Monument
Skyride Entertainment at Glasgow Green and there’ll also be a whole host of entertainment Sky will be putting on throughout the day.
Cycle round and take in the sights of Glasgow without fumes and jams of the traffic.
Skyride want to help get you and your bike safely onto the route, so there will be two Hubs located outside of the main route. Hubs are located at: Kelvingrove Park : Across from the Argyll Hotel
or Queens Park
At the Hubs points collect your Skyride hi-viz cycling bib, then let the specially trained group of Ride Leaders escort you along the roads to the main traffic free route, and entertainment. The hubs are an ideal place to, meet up with friends before setting off for the central route, or provide a space for a breather for those of you cycling in from further afield, there are also signposts to and from the central route, in case you decide not to make use of the regular cycle marshal escorts.
